Obituary for Earnest C Fagin

Earnest Clinton Fagin ,90 years old, June 18, 1927 passed away peacefully on November 2, 2017 at St Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood, KY.

He was born in Mena, AR to Earnest Crisco Fagin and Ina Dell Fagin. Earnest like his father was a rock mason and a loving father.

He has left many landmarks throughout AR. He passed both his and his father’s great skills down to his son Arthur Fagin. He is a Veteran of the US ARMY where he served our country and fought in World War II and Korean War. He loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed spending time with his brother Joe. They spent many a weekend fishing. He had a special love for his niece Cindy who misses all his cards and letters. He was married to Claudia Fagin for 55 years until her death on January 10, 2011. He stayed at her bedside constantly through her illness until her untimely death.

Their anniversary November 1, 2017 would have been their 61st. I guess Claudia needed him in heaven more than we did on earth.

In their retirement years they went on several cruises and enjoyed them all. Earnest became great friends with Bill Watts who was his caretaker for 6 years. They spent many days watching Westerns and Fox news. They sat on the deck and shot at the squirrels with a bb gun. Earnest was a simple man. Never was much for sitting on the telephone but in later years began to enjoy talking with loved ones.

Gone before him was his mother and father Earnest and Ina Fagin, his sister Pauline, brothers Johnny Joe and Stanley. He is survived by his sister Christine Metcalf of Hotsprings AR. Four children Robecca (Chip) Quammen from Florida, Debra Fagin Kentucky, Earnest Clinton Fagin Georgia, Arthur Hanes Fagin Arkansas. 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. And many dear friends and extended family. Rest in peace dad we love you.
