Carolyn Marie Ward

Carolyn Marie (Shepherd) Ward, 76, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Bridgepointe Center in Florence. She was born in Knox County, Kentucky to her parents Robert and Lona Marie Shepherd in 1943. During her career she served as head ICU nurse at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. Carolyn loved life, her grandchildren and is remembered as always being happy with a giving nature. Her son Rick remembers her as “the strongest woman he had ever met” and felt very blessed to call her his mother. Carolyn is survived by her son Rick N. (Angel) Ward, Independence and her daughter Karen (Gerald) Jordan, Cincinnati, her three grandchildren Joshua Cobb, Jeremy Ward and Kera Lloyd and great granddaughter Arianna Warren. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Don and Wayne Shepherd and sisters Bobbie Joe and Patricia Shepherd. Carolyn’s family honored her wishes to be cremated and there are no services planned at this time.
