Christopher Joseph Heringer - DOB: February 6th, 1970 - December 7th, 2023
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Christopher Heringer. Chris was born in Covington, KY to Joan and Dr. Howard Heringer, Jr. Chris fell in love with his devoted wife, Jennifer (Zoller) in 1999. They married in 2009, and have three children, Josslyn, Jacqueline, and Louis. Chris fiercely loved his children and dedicated life to nurturing his family.
Chris attended Covington Latin School. In college, Chris earned multiple degrees at NKU: A bachelor’s degree in marketing, bachelor’s in art, associate in aviation administration and master’s in public administration. Chris was passionate about his airline career pursuits beginning with Comair and Delta. Chris was a dedicated leader at DHL for over 11 years, making some of his best friends along the way.
Chris had a brilliant mind with unrivaled quick wit, sarcasm, and endless interesting facts. He made everyone who crossed paths laugh, making friends everywhere he went and knowing no stranger in this life.
Chris and his family lived on what remains of the old Heringer family farm, once owned, and operated by his grandfather, Howard Sr. Chris was his grandfather’s pride and joy, teaching Chris about cattle, farming and life. Chris took great pride in this ancestry and connection to the land.
Chris lived a bold life. He grew up playing soccer, quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. He was passionate about travel and flying, and an excellent cook. Chris was also fascinated by war history. He loved 70s music like The Doors and Creedence Clearwater to which his children know the words to many of his favorites. He respected and was in awe of all things nature and had an eagle eye that could spot a deer a mile away. Chris was an artist and talented potter, leaving behind many ceramic pieces for his loved ones to cherish.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Howard Heringer Jr and Joan (Denzer) Heringer, grandparents Howard Heringer Sr, Joseph Denzer and Mary (Bradley) Denzer, aunt and uncle Joseph Hils and Eileen (Denzer) Hils, Aunt Evelyn Heringer, and his mother-in-law Judith (Seaver) Zoller.
He is survived by his wife and children, his four sisters: Diane Thomas, Lisa Donmez (Kadir), Sue Schultz (Charles), Jennifer Vires “Sahara”, his cousin Nancy Hils Igel (Dave), many nieces and nephews, Indiana Decker cousins, father-in-law James Zoller, Gregory Zoller (Cassaundra) and Sarah (Zoller) Spires (Charles), his beloved dog Leroy and countless friends.
Chris once listed in a resume goals and ambitions as, “Develop my potential as a human being and enjoy my life with everything I do.” His loved ones believe he accomplished that, and more. Chris will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Chris Heringer’s name for his children at any Fifth Third Bank or Venmo@HeringerFamily.
Join friends and family to celebrate Chris's great life.
