David Lynn Buttelwerth, known affectionately as “Dave” to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, in Edgewood, Kentucky. Born on January 28, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, David's life was a testament to his loving, thoughtful, and selfless nature.

David's journey began as a proud graduate of St. Henry High School, where he formed the foundation of a life characterized by hard work and dedication. His commitment to service was evident through his time as a veteran of the United States Air Force, a period of his life that shaped much of his discipline and camaraderie. After his military service, David embarked on a long and fulfilling career as a dispatcher in the logistics and trucking industries for many years. He was respected by colleagues and friends alike for his integrity and work ethic.

Outside of his professional life, David was an avid golfer and a cherished member of the Perry Park Country Club. His love for the game was paralleled only by his passion for collecting stamps and golf scorecards, hobbies that he pursued with great enthusiasm. David also found solace in bird watching and feeding the birds, activities that reflected his appreciation for nature's simple pleasures.David's faith played a central role in his life. Alongside his beloved wife of 63 years, Maureen Buttelwerth, he was a long-time member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Their shared devotion was a source of strength and inspiration for their family and community.

Family was the cornerstone of David's world. He was a devoted husband to Maureen, a loving brother to Mary Jo Stull (Bruce), Tina Goodson (Michael), and Matt Buttelwerth (Tracy). He was a guiding light to his children, Daniel Buttelwerth (Sheila), Terri Thomas, and Sherry Reeves (Mike). David's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Ashley, Erik, Kyle, Brett, and Shannon, and his five great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values he instilled in them.

David was predeceased by his brothers Gene Buttelwerth and Dennis Buttelwerth, who welcomed him with open arms on the other side. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by the countless lives he touched with his generosity and kindness.
