David Wayne Coning, 72, born May 30, 1949, in Hamilton, Ohio to Randell France Coning and Bertha Jane Coning (Petty), passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Florence, Kentucky. David was originally from Seven Mile, Ohio, but moved with his family to Aurora, Indiana in 1992. David fought hard over last 15 months to recover from a stroke suffered in Nov. 2020 and a serious wound from Jan. 2021. His wife of almost 50 years, Yvonne Kaye Dalton, 70, originally of Hamilton, Ohio cared for him, with help from their daughter, Angela, at their home till December 2021. When Yvonne became sick, David went to his daughter’s house where she cared for him. Yvonne passed just nine days prior to David. After he learned of Yvonne’s passing his health declined rapidly making it obvious, he wanted to be with her. David and Yvonne were married on July 5, 1973, in Hamilton. Their life together was truly a love story, filled with many wonderful memories. David had a son from previous marriage, David Wayne Coning Jr, 51 who resides in Coatsville, PA with partner Lisa Schuck. David and Yvonne also had 2 children together. Jason Matthew Coning, 47, living in Sevierville, Tenn., with friend Steve Smelcer and Angela Louise Coning-Exterkamp, 42, Petersburg, KY. Angela married James (Jim) Edward Exterkamp and together had Audra Elizabeth Kaye Exterkamp, 14. Jim previously had 2 children, James Edward Exterkamp II, 27, Lexington, KY and Linda Kylie Day, 22, Silver Grove, KY. David was raised in church and never wavered in his faith in God. Throughout his lifetime he studied scripture and sought answers to his spiritual questions. His faith was important to him, and he worked with local ministries as well as his own to help the needy. David had a big heart, loved everyone equally and was always willing to help anyone who had a need. In 1986, David graduated from Miami University, Hamilton, Ohio with an Associate Degree in computer technologies. Soon after he took a job with Internal Revenue Service, Covington, KY, where he worked till, he retired in 2008. David enjoyed his job and took pride in his contributions to the government. In recent years Yvonne and David spent every moment together, taking rides, dining out, shopping and spending time with family. One of David’s favorite past times was driving around to explore new places. He also loved westerns and carpentry work. He will be greatly missed here on Earth, but he is up above with his true love…and one day we will all meet again.
