Donald Champ Dedden

June 27, 1965 — March 1, 2024

Donald Champ Dedden, 58, Elsmere, Kentucky, formerly of Independence, left this world for the grand hunting ground in the sky on Friday, March 1, 2024. Donald's journey through life was as colorful and vibrant as the characters he adored on those old TV shows he'd binge on channel 19.

Donald, known for his quick wit and the uncanny ability to turn even the most mundane moments into memorable ones, passed away in the comfort of his home in Elsmere, Kentucky. He was the life of every party, and even in his final moments, one could swear they saw the twinkle of mischief in his eyes.

Survived by his loving sisters, Debbie Shackelford (Rick Faehr), Charlotte Wayman (Marty McMillian), and Connie Snipes (Billy), Donald's legacy of laughter and love will live on through them. His best friend and longtime caretaker, Travis Poe, will miss their endless banter and the shared silence that only true friends understand, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, Shitty Kitty, his beloved cat, will undoubtedly miss the warm lap and the gentle strokes from the man who gave her such an interesting name.

Donald was a man of the outdoors, with a passion for hunting and camping that was only rivaled by his enthusiasm for Bengals football and NASCAR. The roar of the engines and the thrill of the chase were music to his ears.

Preceded in death by his parents Mary Ann and Charles Dedden, siblings, Pamela Jones and Charlie Dedden, JR, Donald's reunion with them is sure to be a boisterous affair, filled with laughter and the clinking of celestial beer mugs.

Describing Donald is simple: he was interesting. Every moment with him was an adventure, a chance to see the world through his eyes— every day was a punchline waiting to happen. Donald Champ Dedden will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
