Donald Lewis Schaffner

Donald Lewis Schaffner, 79, Florence, KY passed away on May 12, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Florence. Donald served our country as a Marine and also served in the Army. He was an avid wood carver, enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and riding motorcycles, especially his Honda Gold Wing. Donald was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents (Orville and Violet Schaffner), four children (David, Barbara, two infants and a brother Neal). He is survived by his wonderful wife of 53 years Ella Jean (Kreger) Schaffner of Florence, his daughters Diane Rojas, Redwood City, CA who cherishes a leather purse her father made for her and Alice Schaffner of Chowchilla, CA, his sons Frank Schaffner Redwood City, CA and Patrick Schaffner Erlanger, KY, his 10 grandchildren William, Joseph, Laura, Jose, Dawn Marie, Jean Marie, Brandyn, Sarah, Ben and Matthew, 5 great-grandchildren Sadie, Lillian, Mark, Clint and a great grandson on the way. Donald’s family honored his wishes to be cremated. No services are planned at this time.
