Edward Lee Victor Good

August 15, 1945 — October 25, 2019

Edward Lee Victor Good, 74, of Florence, passed away, following an extended battle with cancer, on Friday, October 25, 2019 at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Ed worked as an electric lineman for CG&E during his professional career. Ed served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy. He was born in Covington in 1945 to Leslie and Della Mae (Wainscott) Good. Ed’s interests were golf, golf and golf! When he wasn’t playing golf he was planning on it, teaching it, watching it, and talking about other people’s rounds. He had not only a hole in one, but eight of them, over the years. When he wasn’t playing golf he enjoyed fishing and playing poker at the Moose Lodge. Ed’s first love however, regardless of the activity, was spending time with his family and friends. After retirement from CG&E he never stopped working. He was a Power Line Inspector with Pike Engineering and often had his wife Marty working right along beside him. He also traveled to other parts of the country to help restore power during natural disasters. Often, on his off days, he could be found working and helping his son Craig in his construction business. He would come to anyone’s aid at any time and had the knowledge and skill to fix just about anything. Ed even had a couple of lifesaving rescues to his credit. His focus was always making sure his family and friends were taken care of. Left with their memories are his beloved wife of 47 years Marty (Swafford) Good, daughter Roxanne (Chris) Poole, Taylor Mill, son Craig (Jennifer) Good, Burlington, sister Shirley (Frebert) Simms, Lawrenceburg, brother Leslie (Donna) Good, Florence, mother Della Mae Jackson, Erlanger and grandchildren Ben Poole, Fort Mitchell, and Emma Poole, University of Kentucky, who affectionately called him “Papaw Buddy”. A Memorial Gathering will be held to Celebrate Ed’s Life on Saturday, December 14th from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Taylor Mill. Ed’s kindness, humility, enthusiasm, encouragement, support, and never-give-up spirit touched everyone who knew him and he made sure he was a friend to everyone he met. PLEASE DO NOT SEND FLOWERS!!!!
