Eugene Jack Burden

October 18, 1928 — December 15, 2015

Eugene Jack Burden, 87, Newport passed away Tuesday December 15, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. He served the City of Newport as a firefighter for 31 years before his retirement. Eugene sang lead in his church choir for 50 years, enjoyed camping and yearly trips to Myrtle Beach with his family and floating in his pool. He was very proud of his beautifully manicured yard, liked to joke and kid around and never met a stranger. Eugene was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years Marie (Truss) Burden who died in July of this year, brothers Sonny and James Burden and his sister Mae. He is survived by his son Nathan (Sheila) Shank, Foster, niece Cheryle (John) Brewer, Anderson, OH and their children Ryan and Nicole and four step grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday December 21, 2015 from 10 AM- 12:00 PM at the Christian Tabernacle, 325 Washington Street, Newport. Funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 PM. Burial will be at St. Stephen Cemetery in Ft. Thomas. Memorial contributions may be directed to ASPCA. Online condolences may be expressed at alliancefuneralhome.net.
