Herbert enjoyed a great career in construction and general contracting, where he took pride in completing various side jobs that not only showcased his talents but also allowed him to provide for his family. His expertise ranged from building decks to finishing basements, reflecting his commitment to quality and attention to detail.

A high school graduate, Herbert was known for his love of fishing and spent many days enjoying the outdoors with his family. He was also an avid gun collector, a hobby that brought him great joy. Herbert’s passion for construction extended beyond his professional life; he found fulfillment in performing side jobs that helped others while pursuing his interests.

He is survived by his long-time partner, Ashley Kilgore, and their children, Roman, Hunter, and Willow. Additionally, he leaves behind his daughter Sam Grothaus, and her daughter, as well as his daughter Alissa Augst. Herbert’s brother, Howard Crockett, and Howard's partner, Sherry, along with his sister Georgiann Schrepfer and her partner, Jerry, also survive him, as well as his sister Connie Davis Beitling.

Herbert was predeceased by his father, Herbert Adrian Crockett, his mother, Jeanette Dolores Russell, and his sister, Star Kaeppel.

As family and friends gather to remember his life, they will carry with them the memories of his warmth, his generosity, and his unwavering love for those he held dear. Herbert will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
