Jackie W Ashworth

Jackie Wright Bonner Ashworth (Jack), 85, Union, Kentucky passed away surrounded by his caring family on January 21, 2023. He was born to parents Zora Debrel Ashworth and Debra Pauline (Wright) Ashworth on April 6, 1937 in Roscoe, Texas.

Jack met Edith Irene Dean in 1956. They were married on March 25, 1957 in Burlington, Colorado. During their 65 years of marriage together they raised three sons Dennis Ashworth, Jerry Ashworth and Scott Ashworth.

Jack graduated from Abilene High School in Abilene, Texas in 1955. He worked for Yates Surveying, Halliburton, Lassing Point Golf Course and W.R. Grace. Jack retired from W.R. Grace after 20 years of service as an Eastern Regional Manager in 1996.

Jack enjoyed the simple things in life but especially enjoyed his days aboard his houseboat on Lake Cumberland fishing and taking long cruises on the lake. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and visiting with his nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and was a country boy at heart spending many summer days on the farm that his grandparents owned in Roscoe, Texas. His career took him all across the United States, planting roots in Abilene and Perryton, Texas, Denver, Colorado, Omaha, Nebraska and Florence, Kentucky.

Jack is preceded in death by his grandparents Cleaborn and Sara Ellen (Graham) Ashworth, Robert Carrol, and Maude (Allen) Wright and parents Zora Debrel and Debra Pauline Ashworth.

Jack is survived by his loving wife Edith Irene Ashworth, sons Dennis Dean (Kim) Ashworth, Jerry Wright (Susan) Ashworth and Scott Carroll (Tracy) Ashworth, grandchildren Jamie Ashworth (Danny) Sweitzer, Ryan (Caitlyn) Ashworth, Joshua (Katie) Ashworth, Gregory (Caitlin) Ashworth, Kellen Ashworth, Kyle Ashworth, Emily (Jeff) Hickerson, Evan Duckworth and Ellen (Derk) Murrary, great grandchildren Thomas Sweitzer, Eliza Ashworth, Charlotte Hickerson, Eleanor Ashworth, Brantley Ashworth, Lucy Hickerson, Harper Murrary, Nora Ashworth, Avery Ashworth, Braxton, Ashworth, Walker Murrary.
