James Ernest Oppenheimer, 68, Florence, KY passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood, KY. James was born in Germany and moved to the United States as a child. He lived his life to fullest and through his witty humor he touched the lives of many people”. James enjoyed watching UK, Bengals, and the Reds play. He once bowled a perfect 300 game and golfed. His coworkers and bowling league fondly called him “Oppy”. James cherished his family and all the stray animals in the neighborhood. He would feed the cats and make houses for them on his front porch so they would not be cold in the winter. He was predeceased by his brother Norbert. Survived to mourn his loss is his loving wife of 40 years, Sandra, daughters Karie Oppenheimer-Stewart, Amber Oppenheimer, sons Richard Corley (Ruth), Joseph Marinelli, sisters Donna Lynch (Ron), Kathy Turbenson (John), his twin brother Robert Oppenheimer (Jennifer), brothers Norbert (Donna) and Donald Seaburg, Pat Oppenheimer, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, grand dog Minnie, and his beloved cat Tiger Lilly and dog Holly. Gathering of Friends will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM. Celebration of Life begins at 2:00 PM. Alliance Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 7816 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY.
