Jimmy Ray Helton, 61, Independence, passed away on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at Cincinnati VA Medical Center Hospice. He was born in Corbin, Kentucky to James and Mary Helton. Jimmy served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp. Following his career with the railroad, he was described as a “jack of all trades” and his interests ranged from fixing small engines to preparing taxes. Jimmy Ray is survived by his wife Nora (Crail) Helton, daughter Becky Vanover, Burlington, sons William Helton, Falmouth, Dylan Helton, Burlington and Kenneth (Sabrina) Sevier, Fairfield, OH, sisters Linda James, Virginia and Marilyn Sutton, Erlanger, brother Bill Helton, Bellevue and mother Mary Helton. His father James and daughter Kathy Martin preceded him in death. Visitation for Jimmy will be held on Friday January 26, 2018 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at Alliance Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Florence with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 PM. Interment will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown, Kentucky at 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to Cincinnati VA Medical Center, Hospice Program, 3200 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH, 45220.
