Joan Elizabeth Turner

Joan Elizabeth Turner, 84, Florence, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 29, 2015 at Providence Health Care in Gallatin County. She worked as a records department supervisor in the engineering division of Kenner Toys for 40 years. Joan is survived by daughter Valerie (Mark) Turner Bowman, Florence, sons Vance Lee (Michiko) Turner, Walton and Vick Jeffrey (Lena) Turner, Florence, brother Gary (Terry) Clingner, Cincinnati, 6 grandchildren Kyle and Kiera Bowman, Jimmy, John, Michael and Christopher Turner and 3 great-grandchildren Elizabeth Townsend and Chloe and Joshua Turner. She was always smiling and loved her family. She enjoyed reading Harlequin romances, gardening, collecting Precious Moments and Hummel figurines. Joan was very generous, especially at Christmas, and everyone in the family could count on finding a year’s supply of dishtowels under the tree. One of her most special memories was meeting President Ronald Reagan. She is predeceased by her sister Mary Lou Clingner. Visitation will be held at Alliance Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Florence on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 5-7:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 7:00 PM.
