John Conrad Hovan

John C. Hovan, 73, of Florence, KY, passed away on Tuesday September 6th, 2022, at Ivy Knoll Senior Living Community in Covington, KY. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Norma Jean Hovan.

John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather that spent his entire life in the service of others. He worked at the Greater Cincinnati NKY International Airport as a ramp serviceman for TWA, DHL and Comair.

When he wasn’t at work, John could be found in the summers coaching his Knothole baseball team and in the fall coaching and scouting at the Boone County Pee Wee Football Field. He cherished the relationships that he was able to make through coaching and mentoring the youth of Boone County. John also loved baseball cards and sports memorabilia and was an avid collector of both.

He spent the final five years of his life as a resident of Ivy Knoll Senior Living Community where he was able to use his wit and charm to dazzle not only the residents, but also the staff, and enhance the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind a daughter Nancy Gould, sons Nick Hovan and Nathan Hovan, grandson Jack Hovan and granddaughters Lexi Gould and Avery Hovan.

John’s memorial service will be held on Saturday September the 24th at Kento-Boo Baptist Church in Florence, KY beginning at 10:30 am.
