Kathleen Elizabeth (Luck) Kerl of Erlanger, Kentucky passed away at her home the morning of October 2nd at the age of 77. Kathy was born in Covington, KY to the late Henry Howard Luck and Thelma (Huesman) Luck.


She worked in the Kenton County Public School system for many years as a teacher’s aid, assistant, and special education professional. Her fierce love of children powered her dedication to students with special needs and their right to education. Her collection of smiley faces, hugs for anyone in need, and zeal for reading touched the lives of countless young people. For several decades, she was an integral part of a tight-knit group of bunco gaming friends.


Kathy was preceded in death by her twin brother Howard Luck, and siblings Thomas Schneider, Antoinette (Schneider) Ohnefloss, and Judith (Schneider) Drees. Survivors include her brother Daniel Luck, her sister Nancy (Schneider) McQueen, her husband of fifty-nine years Raymond Edward Kerl, two sons Eric Matthew Kerl (Rachel Cohen) and Jason Howard Kerl (Elizabeth Kerl), and grandchildren Alexus, Skylur, Jaxson, and Waylon.


Cemetery memorial services are planned for Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Williamstown, KY on Thursday, October 9, at 10am.
