Kenneth Lee “Bud” Feldhaus, 86, of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully and was welcomed by the Lord on August 8th, 2021. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bud is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Janet F. (Slayback) Feldhaus; sons Kenneth M. (Melissa) Feldhaus, Grovetown, GA, and Kevin T. (Bekah Tucker) Feldhaus, Burlington, KY; daughter Adrienne L. (Larry) Meyer, Radcliff, KY; grandchildren Zachary M. (Haley) Feldhaus, Sterling, VA, Ethann T. (Jordan) Feldhaus, Grovetown, GA, Kimberly N. (Zachary) Parker, Glendale, KY, Taylor J. Feldhaus, Gainesville, GA, Alexis A. Feldhaus, Grovetown, GA, Emma Tucker and Manny Tucker, Burlington, KY; and 4 great-grandchildren, brother James D. (Louise) Feldhaus, Petersburg, KY and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his mother Jane (Setters) Feldhaus, father Ralph Feldhaus, sisters Pauline Parmer, Florence Richardson, brother Lewis Feldhaus, and grandson Rowan E. Feldhaus. Bud, also known to many as Uncle Bud or just “Unk”, lived all his life in the East Bend, Rabbit Hash and Belleview communities of Boone County. He and Janet met in 1958 when Bud was a bus driver for the Boone County Schools. He was drafted into the Army in 1959, and married Janet in November, before being assigned to 28th Transportation (Medium Truck) Company in Seoul, South Korea, as a Heavy Vehicle Driver. After the Army, Bud worked as mechanic, farmer and truck driver. In the tobacco field he was un-matched; when it came to cutting tobacco he could make a spear ring. His favorite color was red when it came to tractors; in years past you would see him going up and down the road on his Farmall Super A or an IH 464. He was also well known as the “Water Man”, having drove for and retired from Trapp’s Water with over 20 years of service. He knew the roads of Boone County like the back of his hand. He was a humble man that taught his children the value of hard work and to treat people right until they gave you a reason not to. He was always there for his friends and family. In accordance with Bud’s wishes, he has been cremated. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, September 18th, 2021, at the barn in Rabbit Hash, Kentucky from 4 – 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to The Alzheimer’s Association, 644 Linn Street, Suite 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203 or Bluegrass Hospice Care, 51 Cavalier Blvd, Suite 200, Florence, KY 41042.
