Larry Ray Cox, 74, of Burlington, born July 22, 1948 in Pineville, KY, passed away peacefully on February, 15, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Florence, KY, surrounded by loved ones.


He was proceeded in death by his wife Omalie (Jones) Cox, parents Earl and Bonnie Lou (Centers) Cox, brother Ronnie Cox, sister Betty Sue (Cox) McClanahan, grandsons Nathaniel Joseph Curtis Cox and Matthew Brayden Cox.

He is survived by his partner Theresa Peel, brother David Earl Cox, sons Gary Wayne (Lisa) Cox and Daniel Allen Cox, grandchildren Kaitlyn Abigail Curtis Cox, Dylan Andrew Curtis Cox, Kirsten Lynnlie Cox, and Kadence Alexis Cox, along with numerous nieces and nephews.


Larry grew up in Dayton, KY with frequent trips to Warren Camp, KY to visit his grandparents. After starting a family, they moved to Florence, KY in 1978. He was an active coach with many of his sons’ athletic teams, but also coached for many years in the Dixie Knothole League, sharing his love for baseball with many other children. Larry was a rabid fan of the University of Kentucky, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Reds.
