Marcus F Boyd

Marcus Fields Boyd, 88, of Florence passed away August 14, 2014 at Florence Park Care Center. He retired from the Air Force after 23 years of service and also served 13 years with the IRS. Marcus is survived by his wife of 64 years Mary (Ayres) Boyd, daughters Janet A. (David) Ransdell, Union, Glenda A. (Shawn Pfeiffer) Cheesman, Florence and Judy A. (Russell) Thornton, Erlanger and son Gerald A. (Jerry) Boyd, Elsmere, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by brothers Johnny, Edgar and Roland Boyd, sister Patsy Terry and son-in-law Russell Thornton. Mark was three term past Commander, Historian and Boys State of American Legion Post 4 Florence. Other interests included genealogy, UK basketball and the Reds. Visitation will be Tuesday August 19, 2014 from 10AM-12 Noon followed by a funeral ceremony at Alliance Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Florence. Burial will follow at Hopeful Lutheran Cemetery.
