Mary Edna Boyd

Mary E. Boyd (Ayres), 87, of Florence, passed away on January 21, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. Mary was a member of Greenview Baptist Church, Erlanger Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church, Red Hatters and KEHA. She was a Sunday school teacher for 42 years. Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Marcus Boyd, brothers Burton and Frank Ayres and son-in-law Russell Thornton. Mary is survived by her daughters Janet (David) Ransdell, Union, Glenda (Sean Pfeiffer) Cheesman, Erlanger, Judy (Russell) Thornton, Erlanger, son Gerald Boyd, Elsmere, 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Erlanger Christian Church, 27 Graves Ave, Erlanger, KY, with the funeral ceremony to follow at 7:00 PM. Interment will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Hopeful Lutheran Cemetery, 6430 Hopeful Road, Florence, KY.
