Maurice Ray Powell, 93, Florence passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood on Thursday, October 31, 2019. He was a retired foreman for CGE in the maintenance department and served his country proudly in the United States Army. Maurice was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky to the late William Dunn and Margaret Pearl (Colvin) Powell. He is also preceded in death by his sister June and mother-in-law Nannie Steele. Maurice enjoyed spending time at the VFW in Harrodsburg, fishing and traveling. One of his favorite destinations was Gatlinburg where he and his bride were married 32 years ago. Survivors include his beloved wife Lois (Steele) Powell, daughters Lavonne (Gordon) Loomis, Florence, Vivian Powell, St. Louis, MO, Carolyn Doll, Erlanger and Debbie (Jim) Clifford, Burlington, sons Warren Powell, Rancho Mirage, CA, John (Laura) Doll, Covington, and Paul (Diana) Doll, Erlanger, twenty grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. You are invited to join Maurice’s family on November 4, 2019 from 11:30AM-1:00PM at Alliance Funeral Home & Cremation Center to celebrate his life. The funeral ceremony will follow immediately after at 1:00PM led by Pastor Roger Campbell from the Florence Church of God. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger with full military honors provided by the Elsmere-VFW Honor Guard.
