Michael Roy Jaggers, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 25, 2019 at his residence in Erlanger. Mike was born in 1963 in Louisville, Kentucky. His parents Roy and Wilma Jean (Miracle) Jaggers both preceded him in death. To say that Mike’s passion was the Florence Elks Lodge 314 would be an understatement. The Florence Elks Lodge supports many local and state charitable efforts and Mike served tirelessly to support those causes and the success of the local lodge. Mike is survived by his beloved wife of twenty years Barbara “Barb” Jaggers, brother Dennis Jaggers, Mammoth Cave, KY, two sisters Tamara (Willard) Davis, Russellville, KY and Veronica (Frank) Wood, League City, TX, stepdaughter Debbie (Sam) Travis, Independence, “Grandpa” to grandchildren Sean (Chelsea) Travis and Erica Travis and great-grandchildren Ryker and Peyton Travis, sister-in-law Sarah Grubbs, brother-in-law Andrew Grubbs and many, many friends. Michael Roy Jaggers was an Elk! He served as the Exalted Ruler of the Florence Elks Lodge 314 in 2014-2015 and was currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Gaming Chairman and bar manager for GTO. Mike was honored this past Saturday as Officer of the Year and recipient of the Don Bauer Award, earned by those dedicated Elks who best exemplify the supreme dedication to the Elks. He was a distinguished member of the Elks National Foundation, instrumental in starting charitable gaming for the Ladies Auxiliary along with two other Elks lodges in the state and always held a seat on the board in some capacity. MICHAEL ROY JAGGERS WAS AN ELK! All are invited to join in a Celebration of Mike’s Life on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 11:00 AM-1:30 PM at Alliance Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Florence. The funeral ceremony and Elks Funeral Service will begin at 1:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private on Monday April 1, 2019 at Cove Hollow Cemetery in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Florence Elks Lodge 314, specifically Mike’s favorite charities, Camp Quality or Kids With Cancer. In anticipation of Mike’s many friends who will be attending to offer their condolences, additional parking for the visitation and funeral ceremony will be available across the street from the funeral home at Sim’s Furniture and Eagle Finance. A crosswalk is available at Manderlay Drive and Dixie Highway for your convenience. Valet parking will be available for those individuals who may have difficulty crossing the street. Park your vehicle in front of the funeral home and our staff will be happy to assist you. Starting immediately after the funeral ceremony all are invited to join together in memory of Mike at the Florence Elks Lodge located at 7704 Dixie Highway in Florence (lower rear level).
