Norman L. Rice, 80, Florence passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth in Edgewood. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Deborah, daughter Mindy (Jeff) Beach, Glencoe, son Norman (Maxine) Rice, Dry Ridge, sister Mary (Ed) Combs, Bromley, brother James Rice, Florence, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Norman founded Rice Pallet Company in 1976, was a member of Walton United Methodist Church and served his country in the United States Army. Norman enjoyed golf, bowling and fishing. His passion was golf. Norman scored two holes in one and a rare albatross (holing out in two shots on a par five hole). He loved playing golf with Norman and Jeff, but would travel to favorite golf destinations by himself. His social nature and his ability to make friends easily allowed him to play with groups who were a man short. His ability to always hit the ball straight made him difficult to beat on the links. Norman was preceded in death by his brothers Franklin, Paul and Dan Rice, his sister Mae Ashcraft and his parents Samuel and Grace (Johnson) Rice. His family invite you to join them in celebrating Norman’s life on Tuesday April 3, 2018 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at Alliance Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Florence. A funeral ceremony will be held following the visitation at 12:00 PM. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Kentucky. Military honors will be presented by the Northern Kentucky Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be directed in Norman’s memory to Walton United Methodist Church, 68 South Main Street, Walton, Kentucky, 41094.
