Pamela Jean McCarty, 60, from Erlanger passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. Pam may be remembered as a friendly, red haired waitress and bartender who always had an ear to lend when someone needed to talk. She is survived by her loving husband Charles “Chuck” McCarty, sons Kevin (Lara) Sowder, Ft. Mitchell, Samuel Keith Sowder, Independence, and Daniel Wayne Sowder, Erlanger, her sister Angela Shaw, Covington, brother Charles (Kathy) Houp, Fayetteville, North Carolina, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. When you talked to Pam you could immediately tell she had a “big heart”. She loved rescue dogs and two of her favorites were Buddy and Lucy. She was also a member of American Legion Post 20 Ladies Auxiliary. Pam is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Betty Jean Warren and her uncle Patrick Brammer. Pam’s family invite all her friends and family to gather together and help them celebrate and remember her life on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 6:00-7:00 PM at Alliance Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Florence. A Memorial Service will take place at the funeral home at 7:00 PM presided over by Pam’s brother Charles. On August 17, 2019 from 6:00-10:00 PM a benefit will be held for Pam at the Ralph Fulton VFW Post in Elsmere. Everyone is invited to share in that time to honor and remember a good friend and a smiling red head. Memorial contributions may be directed to the SPCA or any organization dedicated to the protection and care of homeless animals.
