Raymond Douglas Huelsman

June 18, 1952 — December 12, 2016

Raymond Douglas Huelsman, 64, Covington passed away on Monday December 12, 2016 at University Hospital in Cincinnati. He was retired from the United States Navy and graduated from Thomas More College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art. Ray is predeceased by his parents Charles and Mildred (Kathman) Huelsman. Survivors include sisters Mary (John) Hyland, Union and Annette (Bill) Fanning, Panama City, FL and brothers Doug Huelsman, Van Wert, OH, Phil (Mary Ann) Huelsman, Florence and Tom Huelsman, Anderson Township, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. Ray’s family described his home as a “museum” that showcased his collectables including clocks, airplanes, ships and lighters. He was a talented artist, painter and sculptor and his creative inspirations were also on display at his home. Ray was a jokester and proud to be a Veteran. He never met a stranger and was known as a very unique dresser, especially his crazy T-shirt collection, and self-designed wardrobe. He never watched television or listened to the radio, but had a large collection of his favorite music. A Gathering of Friends will be held on Friday December 16, 2016 at Alliance Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Florence from 9:00-10:30 AM with a Celebration to honor Ray’s life beginning at 10:30 AM. He will be interred at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY at 12:00 Noon with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to Kentucky Veterans Program Trust Fund, in care of Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, 1111B Louisville Road, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601.
