Rilla was the matriarch of an extensive and loving family. She is survived by her devoted children: Linda Ray, Leeann Burgard (Les), Gina Hamilton (David), Debbie Cochran (John), Beverly Webster, Jack Kerns Jr., and John Kerns (Shelly) and Tammy Pugh. Rilla's legacy of love extends to her 29 grandchildren and the many great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Her life was enriched by the close bond she shared with her former daughter-in-law, Shawn Casey. Rilla was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Jack Kerns, her sons Ricky Kerns (Missy) and Michael Kerns, her daughter Pam, and her sons-in-law Bob Ray and Terry Lee Webster.
Throughout her life, Rilla touched many hearts beyond her family. She worked at the Kenton County Jail, where she was beloved by the inmates for her compassion and warmth. Rilla's presence was a light in the lives of those around her, and her impact on the community was profound.
Rilla was the epitome of a lady, known for her wonderful culinary skills, her classy demeanor, and her impeccable sense of style. She never stepped out without her signature lipstick and was always dressed impeccably. Her elegance was matched by her gentle spirit and loving nature.
A woman of many interests, Rilla found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader, a master of crossword puzzles, and had a passion for traveling, with Colorado holding a special place in her heart. Rilla's home was the center of warmth and celebration, known for her memorable derby and New Year's Eve parties that welcomed friends and family alike.
