Sherrie Lee Ernest

Sherrie Lee Ernest was a fighter. Her daughter said if some obscure disease presented itself, it somehow found Sherrie. Despite her battles, Sherrie was a survivor her entire life and a truly spirited woman. Her fight came to an end on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. Her body and spirit could no longer battle the leukemia she was diagnosed with just a few months earlier. Sherrie lived in Verona with her loving husband of 13 years Joseph “Joe” Scott Ernest where she cared for their family home. She was born 49 years ago in Ft. Thomas to Arnold and Bernice (Herman) Coleman, sibling in a large family of brothers and sisters each with a long list of children and grandchildren. Sherrie is survived by her daughters Brandi Taulbee, Ashly Rauck, Harley Sampson and Latoshia Smith and sons DJ Sampson and Kameron Sampson. She was a grandmother of twelve. Dustin, Labryce, Ryan, Noah, Brantley, Gabriel, Alexis, Destiny, Morgan, Anna, Re’Lynn and Cheyenne called her Nana. In addition to the immediate family Sherrie left behind to keep her memory alive she called Tracy, Bert and Elizabeth best friends and loved them like family. Sherrie was very family oriented and she loved flowers and bright colors. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister. Sherrie’s family invite you to a Gathering of Friends to be held in her honor to celebrate her life on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Family requests guests please do not arrive before 11:30 so that they may have private time to share together.
