Teresa Marie Whittle

April 11, 1960 — March 2, 2022

Teresa Whittle was born and raised on April 11th, 1960, in Cincinnati, OH. She grew up on Hillside Ave, playing in the same woods she would later encourage her children to explore, getting into the same mischief she would later find it hard to punish us for. Her accomplices were her 2 brothers, Terry and Mike, and her sister Melissa. Her childhood home was like a second home to me and my siblings. This was due to her love for her family and her mother Vitrella Scott and Father John Scott who she will finally get to see again. She met my father at 8 years old on this hillside, it would begin a 54-year relationship and a 44 year marriage. This marriage would lead to their 3 children. Shannon (Brandon) Runion, Gary (Naomi) Whittle, and Nicholas Whittle and 5 grandchildren Jay, Evan, Zander, Edily, and one she will meet in passing on his way here, baby Mac. Teresa stood 5’3’’...weighed about 120lbs…but when it came to the family, she was the one you wanted in your corner. She was a true mama bear, and no fight was ever too big for this petite woman. She even had a good hook on her, my sister can back this up with their 30 plus years of the punch bug game, who for a woman with bad eyesight, could pick out a Volkswagen beetle from 2 miles away, going 80mph at midnight. She loved her children passionately and, in her eyes, could do no wrong. I often explained this to people by telling them I could be arrested for a crime caught on video, and it would be the cops fault…and in my early days I unfortunately proved this theory correct. She never batted an eye…and only offered support. This carried over as she became a grandmother. As her children grew it gave her and my dad time for more motorcycle rides, she was a leathered-up granny, who often put her grandsons in leather jackets, a little family motorcycle gang. She was a lover of music, all kinds, but when she found a song she liked, she couldn’t get enough of it. This often led to me and my siblings hiding her Michael Bolton cassette tapes or dirty dancing soundtracks, and in true mother fashion, would blow our minds when we walked in with it playing in the background as she just gave us that look. She was a talented seamstress and a magician on a sewing machine. She was artistic and a good drawer, who always offered her services for free. But when she thrived was when she was caring for someone. My mother had a certain calming quality and a call to help people in a time of need. It’s a skill few possess, and my mother was amazing at it. It didn’t only exist for people she knew…you could be a complete stranger…or a vicious cat, only she could pet. She held many people’s hands in their final moments or in their darkest times. She was a woman that never wanted anything in return, she only wanted to help. She was a perfect pair to my father, who also shares many of these qualities…this easily explains the undying love she has for him. They had their hard moments, just like any couple, but they never gave up on each other and she always believed in him. They were a team that worked together to provide for their family…and they enjoyed every minute of it. I have fond memories of them working on old cars together and occasionally breaking a hammock or two when they broke the weight requirement. As a family we would hop in the car and go on a road trip, with no destination in mind. On March 2, 2022, at 8:20 pm my mother went on a new journey. This time without her family and with the best destination. She loved dearly and was loved dearly. She will be missed, but she will not be forgotten. She will be with us in our hearts and without a doubt will show her presence from time to time. Nothing will keep this mama bear from looking after her family. She is with loved ones we lost, and we will be grateful for the day we get to reunite for our next adventure. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM at Alliance Funeral Home, 7816 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY 41042. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Road, Cincinnati, OH, 45241. In lieu of flowers, we would request that instead you pay tribute with a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
