Timothy Lee Shellenberger, aged 39, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024, in Dry Ridge, KY, surrounded by love and warmth. Born on August 25, 1984, in Covington, KY, Timothy was a beacon of joy and kindness, touching the lives of all who knew him with his adventurous spirit and loving heart.
Timothy's life was a tapestry of close-knit family ties, enduring friendships, and a passion for life's many pleasures. He is survived by his devoted husband, Robert Joseph Shellenberger, who stood by him as a partner in all of life's adventures. Their journey together was one of mutual respect, deep love, and endless support. Timothy's mother, Terry Begley, and his beloved nanny, Carol Byrd, provided him with a foundation of unconditional love that he carried throughout his life. His siblings, Donald Millburn, and Cynthia Penn, shared in Timothy's many escapades and will hold dear the memories they created together. His aunt, Kim (Em) Riddell, along with his in-laws, Robert James and Carole Shellenberger, and sisters-in-law, Sherry (Mark) Shellenberger and Rita (Mike) McPeek, were integral parts of his extended family circle that he cherished deeply. Timothy's brother-in-law, Kevin (Lily) Shellenberger, and his treasured nieces, Aireona Arthur, and Shmya Penn, as well as his nephews, Isaiah Milburn, Antonio Penn, Dillon, and Dakota Riddell, will miss his playful spirit and warm embraces. His uncles, Don, and John Neaves, also survive him. Timothy was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Byrd, and his uncle, Gary Jake Huth, who both held special places in his heart.
Professionally, Timothy dedicated ten years of service as a flight attendant with Delta Airlines, where his natural inclination to care for others shone brightly. He then spent another decade as a manager and bartender at Hofbräuhaus, where he was not just an employee but a beloved member of the community. His co-workers and guests alike will remember his infectious laugh, his eagerness to lend a listening ear, and his talent for making everyone feel at home.
Timothy's interests were as varied as they were vibrant. He had a deep appreciation for music, with a particular fondness for Celine Dion, and could often be found singing his heart out during karaoke nights, much to the delight of his audience. His green thumb was evident in his beautiful garden, a tranquil sanctuary he tended with love and care. Timothy's pets were his joy, and he treated them with the same gentle kindness he showed to all living creatures. An avid traveler, he explored new places with enthusiasm, embracing different cultures and making friends wherever he went. In the kitchen, Timothy was a wizard, whipping up delicious meals and sharing them with friends and family.
A true gamer at heart, Timothy enjoyed the escapism of video games, and he was a movie buff who could always suggest the perfect film for any occasion. He was a swimmer who reveled in the serenity of the water. But above all, Timothy adored the Christmas season, a time that reflected his generous nature and love for bringing people together.
Those who knew Timothy would describe him as adventurous, loving, and gentle—a man who lived his life with an open heart and an unwavering zest for new experiences. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy of love and the joy of living will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
Timothy's story is not one of sorrow but of a life well-lived and well-loved. As we say goodbye, we carry forward the light he shared with us, a light that will never dim in the hearts and memories of those he left behind. Celebration of Life at a later date.
