Victor Ahwireng, a man of kindness, intelligence, and faith, left our world on March 10, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on May 24, 1954, in the historic city of Cape Coast, Ghana, Victor's journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to family, education, and the community. He passed away peacefully in Florence, Kentucky, surrounded by the love of his family.
Victor's life was a testament to the power of dedication and love. He was the devoted husband of Earthy Winters for 20 incredible years. Together, they shared a life filled with laughter, learning, and mutual respect. Victor took immense pride in his role as a parent, guiding and nurturing his children Angela Ahwireng (married to Jude Essien), Melvina Abbey (married to Michael Abbey), Priscilla Fynn (married to Jacob), Reuben Ahwireng (married to Phyllis), Julius Ahwireng (married to Charity), and Desmond Ahwireng with a gentle hand and a firm resolve.
He was the beloved son of Edward Ahwireng and was preceded in death by his dear mother, Victoria Imbrah. Victor's siblings, Cecelia Peprah, Richard Ahwireng, and Lawrence Ahwireng, Awo Maafua, Sister Ama, Richard, Doris, Adelaide, Lawrence, Pierre, Ambroise, Sylvanuse, Irene, and Samba will remember him fondly for his boundless warmth and deep-rooted family values. Victor's legacy continues through his 21 grandchildren, each of whom he adored and cherished.
An educated man, Victor's thirst for knowledge was insatiable. He believed in the transformative power of education and spent a lifetime learning and teaching others. His intellectual pursuits were complemented by his creative passions. Victor was an accomplished writer, publishing several books throughout his career. His love for the written word was paralleled by his love for reading, often found with a book in hand, lost in the world of stories and ideas.
Victor's eloquence and wisdom found another outlet in motivational speaking. He inspired countless individuals to strive for their best, instilling hope and courage through his words. His natural ability to connect and uplift people was one of his most remarkable traits.
Not only was Victor a man of intellect, but he also possessed an array of practical skills. An excellent cook, he delighted in preparing meals that were both nourishing and a celebration of his Ghanaian heritage. His skills as a handyman were well-known among family and friends, who often relied on his to fix anything that needed mending. Victor's hands were rarely still, always working on a project or planning the next.
Soccer was another of Victor's great joys. He enjoyed both playing in his younger years and watching games, cheering on his favorite teams with enthusiasm. The sport was yet another way for him to connect with those around him, sharing in the universal language of play and competition.
Victor Ahwireng will be remembered not just for his accomplishments but for the way he touched the lives of everyone he met. He was a pillar of strength, a wellspring of wisdom, and a source of unconditional love. His presence was a gift, and though he has departed from this earthly realm, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire.
