William George Strohm

William George Strohm, 86, of Erlanger, KY passed into eternity on July 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on August 23, 1930 on Long Island, NY to Fred and Dorothy Strohm. He was a member of the Florence Alliance church. He served in the Naval Reserve for five years, and graduated from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Masters in Electrical Engineering. Working for over 35 years with IBM Research and Development, Bill accrued numerous patents during his career. A passionately engaged father and husband, Bill enjoyed camping across country with his family, and travelling around the world with his wife Lillian. He coached various sports teams for his children, was an avid golfer in earlier years, and took up tennis after retirement. He was proud of his Senior Tennis Champion award. Most of all, Bill was proud of his four children. He was preceded in death by his brothers Walter and Ronald Strohm, and grandson Jesse Strohm. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Lillian, sons William (Jenny) Strohm, Jr, Timothy (Marybeth) Strohm, daughters Diane (Mark) Strohm Schumann, Wendy (Douglas) Sterling, sister Norma (Bill) Guggisberg, 14 grandsons, one granddaughter, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
