Yvonne Kaye Coning (Dalton) of Aurora, IN, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 8:26p.m. at Hospice, Edgewood, KY. Yvonne was born on August 26, 1951, to Ruby Louise Dalton (Bowman) and D. Cornell Dalton in Hamilton, Ohio. In 1968, Yvonne graduated from New Miami High School and went on to attend nursing school. After graduation, Yvonne worked at Fort Hamilton Hospital in the Labor and Delivery Department. After moving to Ludlow, KY in 1986 Yvonne began working for Dr. Kessler, M.D. at his office there. Then in 1992, after moving to Aurora, IN, Yvonne began work with Dr. Jay Korsen, Lawrenceburg, IN. Yvonne leaves behind her husband, David Wayne Coning of Seven Mile, OH, whom she married on July 5, 1973, in Hamilton, OH. David and Yvonne’s love took them through hardship and happiness and will always remain an inspiration. Yvonne dedicated most of her life to her family. Together they had two children, Jason Matthew Coning now of Sevierville, TN, and Angela Louise Coning now of Petersburg, KY, in addition to David’s son from previous marriage, David Wayne Coning Jr. David Jr. currently lives with his partner Lisa Schuck in Coatesville, PA. Jason now lives in Sevierville, TN with friend Steve, who has become part of the family. Angela now of Petersburg, KY married James (Jim) Edward Exterkamp on April 20, 2006. Jim previously had two kids, James Edward Exterkamp II and Linda Kylie Day. Together Angela and Jim had Audra Elizabeth Kaye Exterkamp. Yvonne had many interests and hobbies throughout her life. In recent years, her pets were very important to her, and she leaves behind her cats, Sunny, Jesse, Abbie, Fritz, and Tiggy. Yvonne had spent her entire life searching for religious truth and in recent years she adopted Wiccan as her spiritual practice. As a teen, Yvonne was a true Flower Child, and she carried that philosophy with her throughout life. She believed everyone should be accepted just as they are, regardless of age, race, sex, color, orientation, or religion. Yvonne supported these views in politics as well as never being afraid to speak her mind. She believed in the equality of women and demonstrated just how strong a woman can be. Yvonne had many talents and a beautiful singing voice. She loved many kinds of music and singing to her favorites. Reading, drawing, gardening, antiquing, and computers were just some of her interests. In their retirement years, Yvonne and David filled their days with exploring the places around them on day trips dining out and shopping, visiting parks or spending time with family. She will be missed greatly but never forgotten.
